This was a really interesting book, if for no other reason than I learned a crap ton of stuff about the Dust Bowl and the 1930's that I didn't know before. I don't think it QUITE deserves classic status, but it was still a decent book overall.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11196903315080725315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7120112249574123729.post-77265210898365531222012-10-31T14:48:45.506-04:002012-10-31T14:48:45.506-04:00It was definitely a tough go!It was definitely a tough go!Mary R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12468537883595941188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7120112249574123729.post-62862954303548077382012-10-31T13:21:11.970-04:002012-10-31T13:21:11.970-04:00"Ma has the power all along, she just doesn&#..."Ma has the power all along, she just doesn't exercise it except when she has to."<br /><br />I agree. Honestly, all the men in the novel are idiots (except maaayyybe Casy) and the women have to learn to be strong and fix their mistakes. If Ma didn't hold the family together, the whole lot of them would be useless. <br /><br />Love the Eleanor Roosevelt quote, too!Raynahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03536910555459674118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7120112249574123729.post-1836987950191086092012-10-30T19:16:31.851-04:002012-10-30T19:16:31.851-04:00I completely agree that the structure of this book...I completely agree that the structure of this book was so successful.
