The classics club spin is on again. The first one went great for me, the second one was a slog but I made it through. Let's see if the third time is a charm. Here is my list (with some categorization for the first time).
On the list to read in the next several weeks anyway:
3 - Something Wicked This Way Comes, Ray Bradbury (on my mp3 player)
Books that would count toward other reading challenges:
4 - Agnes Grey, Anne Bronte (colorful)
5 - The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne (colorful)
6 - Neuromancer, William Gibson (Canadian)
7 - The Thin Man, Dashiell Hammett (vintage mystery)
A random selection of books from my Classics Club shelf:
8 - The Master and Margarita, Mikhail Bulgakov
9 - In Cold Blood, Truman Capote
10 - The Professor's House, Willa Cather
11 - The French Lieutenant's Woman, John Fowles
12 - Dubliners, James Joyce
13 - Portrait of a Lady, Henry James
13 - Portrait of a Lady, Henry James
14 - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ken Kesey
15 - A Separate Peace, John Knowles
16 - Cakes and Ale, W. Somerset Maugham
17 - Rebecca, Daphne du Maurier
18 - Eminent Victorians, Lytton Strachey
19 - The House of Mirth, Edith Wharton
20 - The Once and Future King, T. H. White
The number will be announced on Monday, 8/19 and the challenge will be to read the selected title by October 1.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of my favourite Bradbury books. Even if it doesn't come up as your spin choice, I'd recommend you read it some time.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. The Master and Margarita, The French Lieutenant's Woman and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest I would all put in my all time favourites' pile, and Bradbury and Capote books I liked very much, too. Great list and good luck for the spin :)
