Strong Poison by Dorothy L. Sayers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This novel explains how Harriet Vane came into Lord Peter's life and is an excellent mystery. The women of the "cattery" play a large part and their are quite a few sly references to other mysteries in it (LP tells Bunter to stop sounding like Jeeves, and at one point he calls for his shag and dressing gown so he can figure out an answer).
The romance between the Inspector and Lady Mary takes shape in this novel as well. Altogether quite a satisfactory book.
This book counts toward the Vintage Mystery Challenge in the category of Murderous Methods (a book with a means of death in the title).
