The Classics Club is hosting Spin #6. On Monday, May 12 they will post a number from 1 through 20. The challenge is to read whatever book falls under that number from the list below (my Spin List) by July 7.

I just picked up A Separate Peace from the library but I haven't had time to look at it yet. Jane Eyre is such a favourite of mine. Brontë makes Rochester so human with his faults and temperament. If you get If On A Winter Night A Traveler and want to do a buddy read, let me know. I started it in January and stalled quickly. The only motivation to finish it is probably going to be someone else spurring me on!
ReplyDeleteYou have a really nice blog! I'm so glad I found it through the Classics Club!
Thank you! A Separate Peace is the absolute favorite book of a friend of mine and I'm slightly terrified that I will hate it. Jane Eyre would be a re-read. I remember liking it, but can't recall many details. If On a Winter Night a Traveller comes up I would be thrilled to read along with you as a buddy.
DeleteHope you get a book you are excited to start! I've read a few on your list and Tender is the Night is amongst my favourites - it's such a beautiful and yet sad book.
ReplyDeleteI love Gatsby, so am looking forward to reading another Fitzgerald.
DeleteYou have an awesome spin list :) The French Lieutenant's Woman and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are in my favourites' list, and I want to read Tender Is the Night and If On a Winter Night a Traveller so badly - especially the latter one sounds so intriguing. Good luck for the spin!
ReplyDeleteGreat list--some of my personal favorites are on here, including The French Lieutenant's Woman. Enjoy your spin!
ReplyDeleteOh, good luck on your spin! You've got some really good ones--Jane Eyre is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteIf no. 19 is spun, then we will share Tender is the Night. I always love a FSF book and would expect to love this one too :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
That would be cool! It's great how you match up your spin list to other club member lists.
DeleteDubliners is on my Spin List as well. I have never read Joyce and this is the one that sounded the most interesting and accessible to me. I found Cold Comfort Farm to be a lot of fun.
