The mystery was super complex, and of course it couldn't have been solved without Bunter. I thought the business of the cipher went on a bit too long, but otherwise I really enjoyed this story. The Harriet Vane/Lord Peter relationship (they team up to solve this case) is developing nicely through this book and the possibilities (including whether there even was a murder) are thick on the ground which kept me guessing until the very end.
This book counts toward the Vintage Mystery Challenge in the category of Dynamic Duos.
