Saturday Snapshot Meme
The Amoskeag Quilter's Guild, of which I am a member, had its quilt show last weekend. This is one of my quilts, "There's a Lot of Fish in the Sea" on display at the show.
Thank you. This quilt was a challenge project in the Guild. and one of the requirements was that it be 3-dimensional, so the plants actually do move and the bubbles are beads.
Wow! We must be neighbors, as the Amoskeag Quilters are manchester-based, yes? I'm over in Fitzwilliam, near Keene. have just spoken with a friend about joing The Cheshire Quilter's Guild ... I'm sorry I missed the quilt show ... was it in the mill complex somewhere?
Yes, Amoskeag is Manchester based (as am I). The show was at Memorial High School (SE Manchester). Belonging to a quilt guild is awesome, I highly recommend it.
Great looking quilt. I love looking at quilts and I'm always amazed at how beautiful they are. I would have no idea where to start if I wanted to make one.
Your quilt is absolutely amazing!! You do such beautiful work! And the 3D elements really make it special. I bet the whole show was impressive. I made a few little quilts when my kids were babies and started one for our bed. I still haven't finished that one though!
What a beautiful quilt! You can almost see the bubbles going up, the fish swimming and the movement of the plant life. Well done!

DeleteOhh what a beautiful quilt! I love ocean themes like that. My mother did a similar thing in needle point which we framed and hung on the wall.

ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I've never had the patience to quilt, so I'm always impressed by those who work so hard to create something so artistic!
