A Brewers Book List

This week I have been at the American Homebrewers Association annual conference and have put together a reading list based on the programs I attended. Some of these I have read parts of, but I'm inspired by all the great speakers to learn more about the craft.
  • How to Brew: Everything You Need to Know to Brew Beer Right the First Time by John Palmer
I read the beginning of this and have made the Queen City Pale Ale several times (it is a great fruit beer base); I need to read the rest.
  • Designing Great Beers: The Ultimate Guide to Brewing Classic Beer Styles by Ray Daniels
Great homebrewers I know recommend this.
  • Radical Brewing: Recipes, Tales and World-Altering Meditations in a Glass by Randy Mosher
This is a book to bring a brewer to a whole different level.
  • IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale by Mitch Steele
Lots of great info about beer history and the evolution of the style, written by a great homebrewer (he makes pretty good beer at his day job too).

  1. Ha! It's a beer weekend. I'm adding this books to my list -- I'm hoping to try home brewing in the coming months. Maybe over the winter.

    1. Home brewing is a great hobby and there are a lot of resources and people out there to help. If your area has a homebrew club that is a good place to find people who can answer questions.
