2022 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge

#histficreadingchallenge
The 2022 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge is being hosted at The Intrepid Reader and I am going to give it a try. I don't think of historical fiction as a genre that I read a lot of, but in 2021 (so far) I have read 10 books that I would call historical fiction and I enjoyed all of them. I also seem to have quite a few works of historical fiction sitting unread on my shelf. This may be my mother's fault, she loved this genre and several of these books belonged to her.

Here are some of the titles already on my shelves that I might consider for this challenge:

I am going to try to complete this challenge at the Victorian level (5 books). Most of these books are really long so I don't want to be too ambitious.

  2. Good list! I like Edward Rutherford, but haven't read New York, yet. A Tale of Two Cities was one of my favorite books in high school, but that was a long time ago! I remember And Ladies of the Club fondly -- I think it was one of the first books I read after college. I stopped reading for pleasure, entirely, in college and that book reminded me that I loved reading and needed to make time for it in my life.
