October Book Report

Oklahoma City, OK October 2026
I finished 14 books last month.

A quote from this month's reading:

“Violent men who are also smart and strong are not completely lost causes. They can learn different ways, if they choose. It’s the weak ones who cause the most damage. Nothing wreaks havoc like a weak man—because they never learn, so they just go blithely on, leaving pain and wreckage behind them.” --Kate Quinn, The Briar Club

Here are the books I finished in October 2026:
  1. Dot Journaling by Rachel Wilkerson Miller (3-stars)
  2. The Briar Club by Kate Quinn (5-stars)
  3. The House Without the Door by Elizabeth Daly (3.5-stars)
  4. Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland by Patrick Radden Keefe (audio, 5-stars)
  5. Biography: A Very Short Introduction by Hermione Lee (3-stars)
  6. The Paper Caper by Kate Carlisle (3-stars)
  7. Five by Ilona Bannister (5-stars)
  8. Elegy for Eddie by Jacqueline Winspear (3.5-stars)

Long travel days definitely bumped up my finished-book count this month. I got to my goal of 100 books for the year and I finished three 5-star books this month.
