by Flannery O'Connor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a novel about 2 members of the same family struggling with the legacy of an elderly prophet related to them both and how they will, or will not, follow in the path he set for them. It is written in the spare, lyrical language that O'Connor's short stories exhibit and reads like a Shakespearean tragedy.
