A quote from this month's reading:
“Clarity about what matters provides clarity about what does not.”
― Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World
Here is my progress toward various goals and challenges:
- 2 were books I own but hadn't read before (inspired by The Unread Shelf project)
- 1 counted toward the 16th Canadian Reading Challenge
- none were from my Classics Club List
- 1 counted toward the TBR Pile Challenge
- none counted toward the 2023 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge -- the Elizabeth Peters could have, but I am trying to read mostly non-mysteries for this challenge.
- none counted toward the 2023 What's in a Name Challenge
- none were from my Readers' Advisory Reading List
- 2 were from the mystery series I am trying to make progress on this year
Here are the books I finished in April 2023:
- Remembering Orwell by Stephan Wadhams (4-stars)
- The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (5-stars)
- Belize by Leslie Jermyn (4-stars)
- Lord of the Silent by Elizabeth Peters (5-stars)
- Deep Work by Cal Newport (4-stars)
- Greek to Me: Adventures of the Comma Queen by Mary Norris (audio, 4-stars)
- Final Account by Peter Robinson (3-stars)
The Count of Monte Cristo is absolutely unputdownable! One of Dumas' greatest works. I haven't read the rest, but Lord of the Silent is an intriguing title. Might check on that later.
